We have several ways to import media into Davinci Resolve. In the Davinci Resolve, we have 7 pages. Out of 7 pages, we can import the media from 6 pages. They are Media, Edit, Cut, Fusion, Color, and Fairlight pages.

Using Media Pool in the Media page:

We have 7 pages in the Davinci Resolve interface. The Media page is the first page in the Davinci Resolve interface. From this page, you can import media footage.

Navigate to the media pool tab (This is present on the left side of the interface)

-> Select your folder in the file browser on the left

-> Here we have 3 options for importing:

  1. Drag and drop: Click and hold on to the desired files and drag them into the media pool window.
  2. Import from folder: Right-click on a folder containing your media and select “import folder”
  3. Import Media: Go to the top menu and select File -> import files -> import media. this will open a window where you can select individual files.

How to import Media into Davinci Resolve?

Using Cut page:

-> Go to the Cut tab

-> Select the Media pool tab on the top left corner of the interface (or) go to file -> import -> media in the timeline bar.

-> Select the desired files or folders -> open. your footage will be imported successfully.

Using Edit page:

-> Go to the Edit tab

-> Select the Media pool tab on the top left corner of the interface (or) go to file -> import -> media in the timeline bar.

-> Select the desired files or folders -> open. your footage will be imported successfully.

Using the Fusion page:

-> Go to the Fusion tab

-> Select the Media pool tab on the top left corner of the interface (or) go to file -> import -> media in the timeline bar.

-> Select the desired files or folders -> open. your footage will be imported successfully.

Using Color page:

-> Go to the Edit tab

-> Select the Media pool tab on the third top left corner of the interface (or) go to file -> import -> media in the timeline bar.

-> Select the desired files or folders -> open. your footage will be imported successfully.

Using the Fairlight page:

-> Go to the Fusion tab

-> Select the Media pool tab on the top left corner of the interface (or) go to file -> import -> media in the timeline bar.

-> Select the desired files or folders -> open. your footage will be imported successfully.
